Old Busch Stadium

I have been to many games at old Busch Stadium.  A few that come to mind are Ozzie Smith's last regular season game, a Cubs vs Cards game where Billy Williams threw me my first game ball and another Cubs vs Cards game which I attended with my Grandpa Jones.

Old Busch Stadium is where "Baseball Road Trip" began for what has became a summer tradition for William Hoffeditz and myself.  The inaugural road trip took place in summer of 2004 when our Cubbies were visiting St. Louis and, of course, they lost.  We rode the Metro from Hoff's grandma's house in Belleville, IL to the game.  The highlight of the trip was getting Greg Maddux's autograph!

Some game recaps

Rooting for the Cubbies with my Grandpa and Aunt Julie!
This place deserved to be tore down!
Look at this astroturf. Who thought this was ever a good idea?

Where it all began!

First game and great seats! I am on the left and my cousin Josh B is on the right.

I attended my first professional baseball game on May 14, 1995 at beautiful Wrigley Field, as if there is anywhere else to begin such a journey! Our seats were down the first base side (closer to home plate) about 8 rows up. From what I can remember is that Sammy Sosa hit two home runs and the Cubs lost to the Padres! Some things never change.

Before the game, I remember my mom and I getting a ball full of autographs with Hall of Famers like Billy Williams and Fergie Jenkins.  We also got personal favorites Mark Grace, Ron Santo and Sammy Sosa.  Promotional item was a blue Cubs 'Square D' tote bag; my mom still uses it to this day!
